Terms of Use

Using the tool

Ledgerline is free to use, with no account and no limit on how many invoices you create. You keep every right in the invoices you produce — they are your documents, created from your data, on your device. We claim no ownership or licence over them.

No professional advice

The tool helps you lay out an invoice. It does not tell you what your tax obligations are. Guidance on this site about invoice numbering, VAT, sales tax or payment terms is general information, not accounting or legal advice, and requirements differ by country and by trade. If an invoice has to satisfy HMRC, the IRS or a state tax authority, check it against that authority's current rules or ask an accountant.

You are responsible for what your invoice says: the amounts, the tax rate you choose, the registration numbers you enter and whether the document meets the requirements of your jurisdiction.

Availability and your data

The tool is provided as is, without warranty. We do not guarantee it will always be available or free of defects.

Because your drafts, preferences and history live only in your browser's local storage, they can be lost by clearing browsing data, by private browsing sessions ending, or by a browser evicting storage to reclaim space. We hold no copy and cannot restore anything. Treat the downloaded PDF as the record, and export a backup if the history matters to you.

Acceptable use

Do not use the tool to produce fraudulent documents, to impersonate a business you have no connection to, or to attempt to disrupt the site for others.

Advertising

The site is funded by advertising. We do not control which ads are shown and do not endorse advertisers. See the Privacy Policy for what advertising partners collect.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from use of the tool — including an invoice that is rejected, paid late, or does not meet a tax requirement. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
